Smudge on DVD Nepal matte painting

Theres a big grey smudge hovering over the shack on the left. Played an old video I taped from TV, and there's no smudge. Was it in the original print, or is it something new and only on the DVD? Then I noticed that huge 4 foot wingspan stuffed bird above the bar. Is that a goose or a raven? It's hard to even tell it's a bird, but right before Indy thinks he's been shot, you can clearly see the individual feathers in it's outstretched wing.
