In the latest issue of Now Playing magazine, one of the developers drops a few more hints about the next Indy game, due in 2007.
His comments are very vague, but promise a more "authentic" Indy gaming experience than ever before. They are trying to keep the game from becoming just another platformer, where the whip is used frequently to advance through the stages.
He also points out how Indy has friends, such as Sallah, all over the world. Now when Indy travels to different locations, you will actually have to do certain things to get there- as opposed to merely watching a loadscreen. This sounds like it could be cool, provided it's not just a case of performing some mundane tasks like "find Sallah". I'd love to see it involve cliffhanger-style sequences, such as having to chase down (on horseback, naturally) a departing train in order to board it. Or perhaps being chased from one locale by a small army?
