It just sits in your system tray (next to the clock) and the icon will flash if there is a message, but you don't have to accept it. You just double click on the flashing icon when you are ready to read the message, and then you can reply if you wish. Beleive me it doesn't get in the way and is very helpful for communicating with people over the web.

: When I read about it it sounds as if the moment your on the web if someone wants to talk to you a dialog box appears.I dont know if I want that wouldnt it get in the way.
