I always felt the "Balloon Cloth" shirt color was way too light. I really think the whole "stone" thing came about because in bright sunlight in the Cairo scenes the shirt does in fact appear very light. However, in other scenes it is darker, and more "tan". Anyone who has done some photography knows you can certainly make a tan shirt look "stone" in bright light. That's my analysis, though I haven't seen the Noel Howard shirt yet. (I hope to soon!)

Cheers,

: : I have been reading with great interest (and jealousy) the posts regarding the Noel Howard shirt. Some have mentioned surprise at the tan or beige colour of the shirt. Well let me tell you, when I visited Noel Howard a few months ago, he showed me an actual shirt used in the films and it was definitely more of a tan colour than stone. I don't remember Noel saying which film it was from, but its shredded appearance resembled that of the shirt at the end of TOD. I hope this helps a little.
