Just a thought concerning the Mummy, special effects etc...

I was just thinking about all of those people who come to the forum to put down the Trilogy, and to say how much better films like "THE MUMMY" were based solely on special effects. Well, aa I was thinking, I recalled all those scenes in the Mummy where those "bugs" were chasing everyone around and eating people's flesh etc. And while the special effects were done quite well, it occurred to me that the bugs in the Indy Films, along with the snakes, and the rats, and even the spiders, were all REAL. There were no "special effects" because the creatures were all really there on the set. Forget about computerized scarabs, I'll take 7,000-9,000 REAL snakes any day!

"I hate snakes Jock, I hate 'em!!!" -Indy in Raiders

Hmmmm...I wonder where they got the idea for that line...?
