I've put some heavy thought into how I would paint an authentic color on a resin prop. I believe you'll actually need an airbrush for the suble tones of dark steel. I've done some detail work on scale models with bristled brushes, but a gun prop calls for an airbrush. You'd be surprised, if you vary the tone enough, how much your prop would resemble a metal Webley. This is my intent when I receive one.

Also, I was actually more impressed with your Wested then the FS. The Wested just seems to lay perfectly on and you already have creases developing on your sleeves. Looks great! How long have you had that?
