If that's the case, they still may be the best quality source I'm going to find. Unless someone out there was able to make some really high quality recordings of the original show, and would be willing to lend them to me.

However, I kinda doubt LucasFilm would allow anything like that. We all know what a stickler for quality Uncle George is.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I don't want to buy the LD's and an LD player to find out they're only as good of quality as some one's tapes I could copy.
