Need help with Emperors Tomb

Ok, here is my problem. I got to "The U-Boat Base, part 1" in the "Peng Lai Lagoon" section, however my health is down to nothing and I have no water left. Also, all of my medkits are gone some how. I know I had them at the end of the "Hong Kong" chapter, but now they are missing. Now, I can get through the first guard and the guard with the MP-40, but when I get to the machine gun, I die pretty quickly because of the low health. Is there any way to replenish my health on this level that I am missing or do I need to go back and replay the whole chapter to this point? I'm also confused as to where my medkits went. Any help would be great.
