Lauren's Quest chspters 19 and 20

Chapter 19

After hours of hiding from the Mafia, Lauren and Anthony arrived on horseback at the spot where Arthur's castle once stood. Lauren lifted the hood of the robe she and Anthony had "acquired" and looked in wonder at the building that stood there now in the distance. Anthony looked at her, and said,
"We should ask for their permission to go the grounds."
Lauren nodded and rode ahead. But instead of heading for the building she headed on the hilly ground, riding away from the building.
"Lauren!" Anthony said, riding towards her, "What in devil's name are you doing?"
"Looking for the Lady of the Lake," pointing towards the descending sun, "It's that way."
"Shouldn't you ask for permission?"
"They probably don't know themselves about this land."
"The Raleighs are the most prominent noble family in England, aside from the Queen, of course," he pointed, "They must have know that Camelot once stood there."
"Maybe," as she pushed her fedora back onto her headsprinted forward, "But I want to know for sure, then I'll let them know."
Anthony sighed and followed after her, What did I ever see in her? he wondered.

Darkness fell onto the valley as the Joneses, Short Round, and Tom made camp. In the distance you could see Raleigh Manor as Eric commented and said,
"Nice sight," as he sat by the fire his dad built, "You bring chicks here all the time, Tom?"
Tom laughed and said, "When I was a bit younger, yes."
"You're not that old, Tom," Indy said, laughing a bit, "You're only three years older than my sons," smiling at Eric and Michael.
Short Round looked at the bond Indy had with his sons and brought back how Indy was to him in Shanghai. He was jealous of how much attention Indy gave them. But they're his kids,he reminded himself.
He snapped out of his thoughts and heard russling of the bushes, "Who's there?" jumping to his feet.
Two hooded figures emerged from the bushes. Druids? Shorty wondered and said, "Stonehenge is back that way."
Indy went over to Shorty and said, "What's the problem?" looking at the figures.
"He thinks," one of the figures said, "we are going to Stonehenge."
The other one laughed and Indy said to himself, "I know that laugh."
Lauren removed her hood and said, "And you should, Dad, you've only known me since I was born," grinning at him.

Chapter 20
Indy stood there in shock as Anthony removed his hood as well.
"Dad?" Lauren asked, "Say something."
"Hey," Eric said, noticing the commotion, "Squirt made it to the family."
"Stop calling me that," Lauren said in frustration.
Michael gave his sister a hug and said, "Geez, Lauren, next time you want to head to London leave the trouble at home."
"Hey, I didn't ask for it," Lauren said, gesturing Anthony.
"You cause her to be in danger!" a familiar voice said.
Before Lauren could speak, a man went towards Anthony and punched him in the stomach. Anthony fought back with the two men rolling in the grass as Eric said, "All right, fight between Laurie's boyfriends. This could be interesting."
"Boyfriend?" Lauren croaked and made the connection, "Tom, cut it out," grabbing a hold of his arm.
He pushed her away and continued fighting with Anthony, "You leave my girl out of your connections, Brody."
"You stay out of her hair," Anthony yelled back, "She's my girl."
A loud crack was heard and a whip wrapped around Tom. He was pulled back as he looked at Lauren, holding the whip in her hand, "I'm no one's girl but my own," she said roughly, "I can take care of myself."
Indy smiled as Anthony and Tom looked at her in shock and said to himself, That's my girl. A chip off the old block. He went to her, put an arm around her shoulder and said, "Come on, Lauren. Let them fight while we have a talk, shall we?"
She smiled back at him, her violet eyes twinkling, and said, "Sure, Dad, whatever you say."
