Awright, what's this "Tessa" stuff

I'm kinda interested in what this "Tessa and the Stranger on the Plain," is all about, but I don't have the time to read 34 back chapters. Could someone just give me a brief synopsis? It sounds to me like someone writing a fanfiction with themselves in it.
