Chapter II

The first thing Indy felt was the wetness on his face. He raised a hand to shoo away the sled dog that was licking him.
Indy opened one eye, only to find that it wasn't a dog at all. He jumped up to stare at the reindeer that had been licking him. It was then that Indy realized that he was no longer outdoors on the frozen ground, but was instead in a stable of some kind.
"How did I get here?" Indy wondered aloud.
Indy turned quickly as a voice behind him said, "I brought you here!"
There, standing in front of Indy was a diminutive fellow. He was dressed in green, his velvet shoes as pointy as his ears. The bells on his pointy hat jingled as he stepped forward.
"And just who are you, Mister? Indy asked.
"Jolo" the small guy said. "I'm the boss here." He smiled. "Well...except for the real boss. Uh...would you like to meet the boss?"
Indy shrugged.
"Of course you do," Jolo said. "Everybody wants to meet the boss. Follow me"
Indy was uncertain, but nonetheless followed Jolo.
They walked from the stable, across a field and finally to a big red and green factory.
Inside, many little people like Jolo were in various states of toymaking. Some were painting toy trains, some were holding teddy bears, testing the "snuggle factor', and some were molding Flash Gordon action figures.
"This is quite an operation you've got here," Indy said.
"It's not mine," Jolo said. "I'm just the foreman. THe boss is through these doors.
Jolo rung the Christmas bells outside the door and waited for a response.
Nothing happened.
Again, he rang the bell, and again, nothing happened,
"Maybe he's gone," Indy said.
"Not likely, Jolo said. "He's always in his office at this time of day."
Jolo slowly opened the door. Cold air came rushing from the opened back door of the office. A not-so-jolly-at-the-moment fat man lie on the floor, blood oozing from a nasty gash on his head.
"Boss!" Jolo exclaimed as he rushed to the fat man's side. Indy closed the back door.
Santa sat up, holding his head. The, realization swept over his face. "The star!" he said.
"The star?" Indy repeated.
"Yes!" Jolo exclaimed. "The magic star of St. Nicholas. The tool that allows the boss to travel all over the world in one night?"
"You're kidding," Indy said.
"Not in the least," the bearded fat man said. "It controls a portal which will land I and my sleigh anywhere in the world."
"So...where did it go?" Indy asked.
"Those terrible Nazis," the bearded one said.
Indy flinched at the sound of the "N" word. "I hate those guys."
"They broke in, beat me, and ransacked my office," the boss said. "I didn't tell them anything, but they must have stumbled onto it afer they had knocked me out." He scowled. "We must have the star back before Christmas eve. Otherwise, millions of children will be disappointed."
"We have a bigger problem," Indy said. "With the Nazis in possession of the star, they can move the armies of darkness anywhere on the face of the Earth. They will be invincible"
