What a most magnificent forum it is that I have come across here- so impressed do I find myself, that I am prompted to share with you a recollection of the most thrilling kind!
What follows, dear adventurers, is a tale comprised exclusively of passion and mystery; deception and suspense!! Let us go now, back to a time when men were men, and when the smile of a young woman was enough to fuel a young boy's imagination by virtue of merit alone...
India 1983
It is here that this tale begins, with I- Percival Cornfalther, eager guide and friend to the great Indiana Jones. Public demand had necessitated that a new thrilling feature be bestowed upon the cineplexes of the world, and that is just what we had set out to do.
As it happens, our able-bodied crew had sought about to film chapters of our serial in the heated jungles of India. Not wishing to be a Lord Fauntleroy by character, I convinced myself of the urgency that I not nilly about and instead stick to the same schedule as the rest.
Adhering to this rule, I came to find myself joining the others upon leisurely nature walks in-between filming sessions. It was on one of these excursions, that I came to hear the voice of Indiana Jones calling out from a nearby clearing. It was not a voice of concern, but so into my adventuring was I that I quickly bounded through the dense foliage, with a speed rivaled only by my youthful days!
As it turns out, Indiana Jones had come across a most unusual beast for the area- none other than a large black mountain goat!! His reaction was more that of great humour than concern, yet I immediately feared for him, as he was taking a great liberty by turning his back to the animal. My fears were not unfounded, for no sooner had he turned than the beast broke!! In an instant, I too reacted- having carried along my trusty walking stick, I charged at the beast- thrashing about like a mad man!!
Upon seeing this, both the animal and Indiana Jones became most startled- for the sight of one Percival Cornfalther stalking like the devil is one to behold- and cleared out of my way!! By this time, the others in our party happened upon the scene, at which point several of them broke into hysterics over my antics. I admit, I too enjoyed quite a chuckle, imagining the image as Indiana Jones recounted it. Of course, the greater humour is that the animal had escaped before the crew could bear witness, leaving only the word of Indiana Jones and myself to account for my behavior!!
The crew enjoyed such a laugh at my expense that, as I would later be told, the act was immortalized in the third Indiana Jones feature, although I have yet to bear witness to this for myself.
