Hi
I'm thinking of developing an Indy Flash game that people can play online. It's going to have text adventure, platform, first person shooter and overhead maze elements (possibly some fighting a la street fighter if I can figure out how to do it!).
I'm a bit stuck for story inspiration so I thought I'd check in here. Indy adventures are based around really strong stories and I want to reflect this in my game.
"Why don't you hook up with the guys who posted below?" You might ask. Well the thing is I may kind of drop the project for 3 months and I wouldn't want to let anyone down and I also don't want to work to a deadline.
The way I see it working is the game will not be huge - probably taking around thirty minutes to read/play (obviously depending on your skill). You would start off with a small text type adventure where you read a bit and maybe answer a couple of questions - by this time the action part of the game would have loaded and you do the platform part. Then you go onto another text bit (maybe some puzzle or riddle) whilst the next action bit loads and so on. You would also get level codes once an area is completed, so you don't have to start from scratch everytime.
I'd like to include some enemies (Nazi's or Russians or Crazy robed people) and some exploring temples type stuff.
So if anyone has any ideas for a prize, locations or story then please reply to this post. Obviously any credit will be given when the game is finally released.
Thanks for reading this.
K.
