: I see it a bit differently. If Indy were played by Sean Patrick Flanery, I WOULD be happy with that. He makes a GREAT Indy! I've mentioned "Young Indiana Jones and the Phantom Train of Doom" before, but I'll do it again... that film, especially, has the look and feel of a true, genuine Indy feature. Flanery's it! Ford's it! The perfect Indy film would feature both of them... Sean Patrick Flanery in a flash back, a-la the Young Indy scene in "Last Crusade", Ford to play Indy through the rest of the film.
Flanery was great as young Indy but he doesn't cut it as Indiana Jones
in his 30s or 40s. I don't think he has the charisma to make it as a
big screen actor, plus he has that baby face. Also he is too much of a
runt to be Indy in his prime Spielberg would have to handle him like
Sylvestor Stallone and give him shoes with lifts and hire short actors
so Indy doesn't look too meek next to others. Flanery lost a role in
Lost In Space because he looked like an elf next to William Hurt.
Flanery was great as a teenaged Indiana Jones but I can't see him as an
adult Indy.
