Relationship between Elsa and Jones Sr.

I hope no one is offended by this message but I would like to hear some discussion about the relationship between Elsa and Jones Sr. (Connery). We know that they had a sexual relationship because of the dialogue that points it out, but I would like to hear what Indy Fans have to say about this.
