In England, this story is old news. In fact the original "actor" inside the purple outfit was fired because of his overly camp portrayal of the character. It should be remembered, however, that the Teletubbies don't have sex on the show. I believe they are intended to be pure beings who have magical origins. They, therefore, have no need for sexual reproduction and so have no reproductive organs (visible ones at least). The absence of a need for sex suggests that the notion of a sexual preference, whether homosexual or heterosexual, just doesn't make sense. Admittedly, an indication that they might have sexual desires, is when they engage in "group hugs". However, I think the intention here is to depict an innocent and pure kind of love, rather than suggest the likelihood of Teletubby orgies. Anyway, the programme is surrealistic nonsense. How can anyone take it seriously?
Adios,
