Speaking of Color Purple, he got fairly well screwed over by the Oscars that year. Not one award for the movie (out of 11 nominations!!!) and not a nomination for himself. BTW, Carrey should have gotten a nomination this year. But the Spielberg movies I've seen I've liked. But my parents are constrictive enough that I haven't seen Saving Private Ryan or Schindler's List or Color Purple yet. And please don't tell me what I'm missing; I hate people who spoil the plot.
