Yep, this has been pointed out before. But if you dig a little further and read the Raiders script, you'll find that the staff is supposed to be 11 jamirs (about 82.5 inches). Which looks believable when you see it in the map room. Harrison is 6' 1", yes?
Does anyone know which order the scenes were filmed in? Was the map room filmed before Cairo?

Interestingly enough, in this version of the script, you're supposed to add 1 jamir to honor the God instead of taking one back.
