This is for all of those "famous-hat-connoiseurs" on the forum, not
indy related but I myself like hats and famous ones are even better:
I found the hat company that custom-made Clint Eastwood's hat in
Unforgiven. It's a place called Rand's Hat Company and I believe it
is based out of Montana. Talk about high quality but expensive! His
hats of different grades of beaver felt start in the $200's and go all
the way up to, get this, $600. Very courteous service though when I
requested a catalog. Nice guy. Rand says he started out sweeping the
floors when he apprenticed with an old hatter out west, and it wasn't
until much later in his "apprenticeship" that he was able to actually
start learning the craft. Anyway, I found it interesting and his
catalog details some wonderful cowboy hat styles and if you have the
moolah he will even work with you to custom make a hat of your own
design. He also does have some stuff even Indy-hat owners would
appreciate : hat care items (which are difficult to find these days,
like hat brushes, racks, cleaners, etc. These items ARE reasonably
