Ok, to Aragorn, Mithrandir, and Brian regarding The Lord of the Rings

So here's what I've got...
I was fishing through my brother's book case and I found dusty copies of The Silmarillion, The Two Towers, and The Fellowship of the Rings. Parts one and two I see of Lord of the Rings, and the epic history of the elves in lord of the rings. So what do i read first? Part one or the Silmarillion? I don't know where part three is.
