One last question about the novels (sorry if this is double posted)

OK here is my question.......
What order should I read the books in? If I read them in the order the were written, does it fall into the timeline correctly? Or do I have to go back and forth between books? So with that in mind, what is the correct order of books, according to time? Thanks for reading my post.
