Well, at least you both agree that it would be better to have someone reprise the part of Doctor Jones than nobody. I know it would be impossible to replace Harrison's Indy, but remember that it is the essence of the character that needs to be brought to life, and not necessarily the work of one and only one actor. Bruce Campbell may not, in your mind, have done any good, serious acting, but that doesn't mean he couldn't fill the other character traits that say Indiana Jones. I never really thought Harrison by himself was funny in any of the Indy movies. It was the writing and directing.
Sean Patrick Flannery was an obvious choice to me, too, since his work on the short-lived television series was well done. I think he is still a bit young to play the part of Indy in the 1930's or 1940's. Thanks for responding. This forum is great!
