The original webbed strap actually looks just as good as having a leather strap, provided it's in good condition. I found a MK VII out in the back of my shed last week filled with old fishing gear and the strap is the same lenghth as the leather one. Afer I cleaned up the bag it looked better than any of the ones I've seen.
