Well I was 11 when I first saw Raiders in the cinema. I've also seen the other two on the big screen. The biggest impact is the sound! That boulder, wow.
The best viewing I had of the films was when one of the cinemas did a special Indiana Jones trilogy one Sunday afternoon.
It was the nearest experience to a Saturday morning atmosphere I think I'll ever have. There were kids of all ages and grown-ups alike.
I had already bought my ticket so didn't have to wait in the queue which was handy but I only got a glimpse of something I had never seen before:
people dressed up as Indy! I couldnt believe it. This was around 1990, a while before I really got into collecting stuff. I wondered where they got that stuff from. Although if I had the outfit I think I would've still chickened out of wearing it. But once in the cinema, it was strange to see these silhouettes of "Indy"s walking about getting into their seats.
Overall, it was an excellent day. Which was not even spoiled by the fact that Temple of Doom started with no sound and the picture half-way down the screen. There were boos and shouts from the audience (including me) and it was great fun. So it was restarted, with sound and the picture sorted and the cheer from the crowd was LOUD!
The best movie experience ever. And I say that even before I see the new Star Wars movie.

Brian
