: : I've long had a pet theory that the diamond that Remy and Indy are searching for in YOUNG INDY and the TREASURE OF THE PEACOCK'S EYE is the same one that he tries to procure in the opening of INDIANA JONES and the TEMPLE OF DOOM. If you look at the notch on the peacock where the eye used to be, it's roughly the same size and shape of Lao Che's diamond.

: I brought the same subject up to the group quite some time ago. Roam around the early archives and you should see it!
: BTW, yes, I do believe it would cool of LFL to reveal them as one and the same diamond.

This connection was one that I was going to make in "The Seventh Vengeance" an Indiana Jones novel which I was writing. Alas, it seems as though the novel (which will be written and submitted to an agent) will not be an Indiana Jones novel...therefore, no Peacock's Eye reference. One thing that troubled me as I wrote that chapter, the listing for the Peacock's Eye movie describes it as a 140 carat diamond. I tried to check this against the screenplay for TOD, and it doesn't refer to a specific gem at all, only to jewels. I'm no gemologist, but I don't think the jewel in TOD was that big. Moot point I suppose.
