Go for the Nostalgia

This kinda destroys any Indy look that you are probaly trying to achieve. His fedora has sides that go straight up, and the Nostalgia does have this characteristic. The Nostalgia comes with an open crown so you can fashion it the way you think best matches Indy's fedora. My Nostalgia and Temple both came with a 1 3/4 " grosgrain ribbon which is a little wider than Indy's, so see if you can order one with the 1 1/2 " ribbon. I think the Nostalgia comes in several different brim sizes. I would go with the 2 3/4 ". All and all I think you will be happier with this hat. Steve

I'll second that. I pretty much went against forum advice a while back and got the Temple from the outlet store, mainly bacause I was apprehensive about trying to shape the Nostalgia. When I finally got it I was really disappointed, chiefly because of the crown taper and the height of the crown as well. It makes you look like a 50's newspaper reporter, not Indy. And no it's not because I don't look like Harry. : )

I must also say that I wasn't very satisfied with Stetson's quality. I don't know if this is a feature of the outlet hats only, but mine looked really cheap from up close... you could easily see the thread in the ribbon where it was sewn to the crown, and there were bends in the ribbon where it attached. Plus, the little bow on the side was asymmetric and, well, cheezy-looking. All in all I'll go for a custom fitted HJ as soon as I get the chance.
