: I am soon to be receiving my Herbert Johnson hat, which I am informed will NOT be creased and bashed....can anyone tell me how to properly crease and bash a hat...or is their a link to help me with the process?
I'd like to add something. Let the hat dry naturally, no heat to help it along. This will minimize any shrinking. I always turn the leather sweat band down as well just in case the hat absorbs some moisture from the wetting process. I do something else that alot of folks don't do. I use a hat stiffener to treat the crown of the hat so it retains the shape you give it. I take out the lining and treat only the inside of the crown. Steve
