Hohlbein Novels

First I would like to thank sas. I really owe it to the guy.
I finally got to buy a Hohlbein novel. I thought the bookstore had those books placed along with the childrens books(like they do in the Phils) but the saleslady pointed out the books to me in the "Films" sections.

"IJ und die Gefiederte Schlage / und das Gold von El Dorado" and the ISBN : 3-442-13194-4. at only 18,-DM. Soft bound and combined.

Um, I DO have a question. Does Hohlbein write his books one after the other a connection of stories, like Mcgregor; or does he jump from one story to another which happens 10 years later? I'm curэous as of how to read his novels... should I buy them in a any particular order of pick out any. I would however prefer buying them in the order of events in which they happen. If that is possible.
