You know who would have also been good for the part of Belloq?

Paul Freeman was excellent as Belloq in Raiders, but it got me thinking, what other French actor could have played him? Well, I looked no further than famous director Francois Truffaut. He had a supporting role in Spielberg's Close Encounters as a French scientist. I think he would have been awesome if he were cast in that part. Freeman and Truffaut sort of look the same. What are your thoughts on this?
