Fan Fic protocol

Just a polite question regarding the new fan fiction forum. As a writer who sometimes produces the occasional Indy novel (which is technically fan fiction) I like to use the forum to announce updates and postings. But I do not contribute to or read forum novels.
So when I wish to make an announcement regarding a piece of web-published fiction, should I post it here, or on the fanfic forum.

I really plan to avoid the fanfic forum, but if good manners dictate that I go there, I will.
