: I hope the next Indy movie is set circa 1949 or later.
: For one thing, it would make it easier to explain the actors' ages.
: But, what I think would be REALLY cool, is to see Indy running around in a Land Rover. They were first made in 1948, like the one you see in "The Gods Must Be Crazy". It'd have to be a Series I Land Rover, hopefully an 80", or even a later 86" or 88" would do fine; the 107" would be a acceptable if the movie's set in the mid-50's, but a 109" wouldn't quite fit unless it was late 50's. But'd it have to be a Series I, and not a II or a IIA, and definitely not a Series III.

The original Land Rover was based on the design of the Willys Overland Jeep used in WWII, a popular surplus item. If you have never had a ride in one, you don't know what you're missing! No seat belts, no roll bars, just a metal dashboard, steering wheel, and shift stick. They were small but tough as hell!
I agree, Land Rovers are great, too, and were definitely the standard safari vehicle seen in Africa, Australia, etc. in the 1950s, 60s. I think it would be awesome to see Indy in an old Series I. My next car is definitely going to be either a Jeep or an old Land Rover Defender. And I'm going to paint it olive drab! (Everything looks cooler in OD green)
