like Captain Blumbertt I'm new to the forum. so I thought I'd say hi!
I have to confess I'd been watching the forum for a while without making any postings to see what type of topics came up, you all seem like very cool people.

PS I chose Captain Katanga as an alias because my dad was in the Merchant Navy sailing from the uk in the fifties and was a bit of a pirate in his own way. he has had so many indy type adventures (I almost posted him as an indy type person I know in reply to the earlier discussion). He loves to watch the opening of LC to see the fight on the tramp steamer and indy going overboard. I have to get him a bit drunk before he starts to tell me his stories!

PPS my first wested is in the post, it doesn't have to go so far as I live in London but the waiting is still awful, it must be torture ordering one from the states! :o)
