: I pretty much know about the lineing of the hat. I think I read on Indy's Digs that The lineing could have a small gold HJ logo or a big red one. You can see it when Indy removes his hat when at Walter Donovin's place. It's the big red one.
: The modified poet looks like the Raiders hat. Is is all the same hat for all three movies but shaped differently, or are there different versions for LC etc? Ive seen pictures and it looks really redish. and some look like a darker brown. On one picture, it looks like the sides of the center-dent were pushed down. Some pictures of brims I saw a brim that wasnt shaped but just kind of there, and some were realy shaped. Are the ribons petersham? They look really shiney and not like the movies. People say the ribbon is dark brown, but the pictures look completly black. Is it really like this, or is it the monitor of the computer?
I don't own a HJ yet but I plan to purchase one for christmas. I am anxious to compare it to my White repro. I have watched all 3 Indy movies countless times and it appears very obvious to me that different hats were used in each movie. The most notable is the Raiders hat. All hats are fedoras of course but to a trained eye there are variances that stick out. That is not to say that I have a trained eye, but my local hatter does and he pointed this out to me years ago when I was searching for an Indy hat. Personally I feel that the raiders hat is just a bit taller in crown height than the Crusade hat. Also the Crusasde hat appears to me to have a brim that is alittle narrower. To me there is alot of variance in the hat he wore in TOD from scene to scene. Like the hat he pulled down over his eyes while on the airplane with Willie and Shortround doesn't look like the some hat he wears on the bridge toward the end of the movie. There is definitely a difference in his fedoras from movie to movie. It almost seems that different people made each hat for the respective movie. Steve
