: : : : I've searched through my collection of Indy pics, but can't seem to
: : : : find one that shows unambiguously where the ship holder is placed.
: : : : Is it looped on the gun belt or on the web pants belt? Thanks for
: : : : the info in advance (a picture from Raiders would be nice if you
: : : : have one).

: : : Everything I've come across says it is hung on the gun belt. For Raiders it is fixed, while for ToD and LC it is a movable loop.

: : Thanks for the info. Do you know how it is fixed to the gun belt?
: : That is, does the whip holder snap onto the belt, is it sewn on
: : the belt, or is it fastened by some sort of clip?

: Specifically how it is attached, I'm not sure. If I were to do it (I let mine move around, i.e. ToD and LC) I would simply choose where I want it attached, punch a hole through the belt and the holder, and secure it with a chicago screw.
If you look on the very first page of the new people 25 years anniversary magazine($10-ouch),there is a very big pic of Ford flinging his whip. I think it was a Raiders promo. Anyhow, there's a pretty good shot of the way the whip holder is attached to the belt. I've not spent a lot of time looking at it though.
