Did ever Indy had a car, or some kind of transport?

In the begining of Temple of Doom, we saw Indy getting away of Lao Che
using a quite expensive car. But that car obviously was not Indy's, but
it was rented, because otherwise Indy wouldn't have abandonned it. Did
ever Indy had a car, or a motorcycle or any kind of transport? Did his
proffesor-income allowed him to have one? What do u guys think?
