Herbert Johnson's seemed a small yet sophisticated shop. It shares a large room -- the right side -- with a men's shop of similar style. The hatter I spoke with -- an attractive young blonde I think named Alexis (Mr. Swales wasn't in) -- was extremely curteous and helpful. Although she was unable to find an "Indy" poet for me to examine, she did have a photo on the wall of Harrison Ford wearing the hat as Indy.
She said the hats are made-to-order. It takes about six weeks. And the price was somewhat cheaper than the $320 I read it would be. The total including shipping came to 160 pounds, which is equivalent to about $256.
But I did not see any regular old Poets lying around. But maybe it's a seasonal thing.

: I'm just curious. What was your impression of H.J.? Are they indeed out of the Poet? Thanks, Steve
