A Gorgon in Raiders?

Ar a party recently I met a girl who was convinced there was a scene in 'Raiders' when she saw it when they open the Ark and a gorgon comes out, and it looks into Indy's shield and turns to stone. Sounds like something from Sinbad to me, but I thought I'd ask on her behalf, as she's pretty hot.
