I would say the period from 1900-1950, with emphasis on 1920-1945 is one of my favorite historical periods of all time. America during this era is recognizeable as the infant version of its modern incarnation. I love the old clothing styles, buildings, radios, phones, cars, planes, Norman Rockwell pictures, and of course guns. I fact I just acquired a Tommy Gun (semi-auto only) for WWII re-enactments. It's fun as hell to shoot! If it were only 1929 instead of 1999 one could mail order a full auto version for about $200!
