No. Being a guy, my clothes that have zippers on them have the zipper handle on the right side (i.e. when I wear it and look down, it's on my right side). My clothes with buttons have the buttons on the right (again, on my right as I wear it) side. The left side then flaps over the right side.

I don't have any of this to worry about when wearing one of my t-shirts, though. :)
