Did Indy use a Webley Revolver because of Lawrence of Arabia?

I know "Lawrence" is one of Spielberg's favorite movies (and mine) but I was wondering if maybe Lawrence (played by Peter O'Toole)'s use of this gun possibly inspired the writers to give it to Indy?
