I had completely forgotten that the character in MacGregor's books "gets saved" and becomes a stereotypical Christian.
What people seem to forget, is that your personality doesn't really change. A person who's not very outspoken who becomes a Christian tends to be a very soft-spoken Christian who prefers to share their faith privately, one-on-one with somebody who has expressed an interest.
But I guess the character couldn't be described as an introvert...
