: I have noticed a lot of posts about the Aldens recently.
: Here are my suggestions:
: For sizing, I recommend that you visit your local shoe store
: to be fitted by a professional--an orthopedic dealer is best, as he
: may be familiar with the boots. The 405's do fit a little large (said to be 1/2 size). Every foot is different, so it never hurts to call before ordering.
: For purchasing your Aldens, please visit the link below to the Alden Shop. Allen White has been gracious enough to work with Indyfans
: on sizing & has provided us information for a couple of years now.
: You can do your order over the phone or online.
: **It is not necessary to go through an orthopedic dealer!
: For those of you new Indyfans, please check out the
: Shoes FAQ for
: more information on the Aldens.

Well said! Always good advice. I have found that whomever I have dealt with that represents Alden has always been courteous and very knowledgeable about the product. Always ask whatever questions you may have. Buying a pair of #405's isn't as much an art as ordering a Wested - it really is more of a science. And the Alden reps are equipped to handle that science.
Cheers!
