: The original Coopers were described as barrier distressed cowhide.
: THis sounds quite a heavy leather, which it is. But it is just as soft as anything.
: I still think this type hangs on you better than the lambskin appears.
: If anyone wants a really rough jacket they can do anything in without worrying about ruining a Wested, then this is the one.
: Does that not work out cheaper than a wested or am I wrong?

Whether these would be ceaper then a Wested depends on two things:
1.) Do you get hit with customs, which runs $20-$30?
2.) Do you wear something larger then a 46?
I take a 48 Regular, and had to have some sizing done in the upper arms and shoulders. I wired Peter the money, getting a better exchange rate then he offers - he prefers not to handle checks in US dollars, and I do not like the exchange rate I usually get from Visa. My total cost was $303 - including ParcelForce Datapost 4 day international delivery for an additional $25. I just didn't want to wait 8 weeks for the jacket.
A Wested is still the best deal around. For those of you who can take a 44 regular off the rack, your cost is only about $255. I envy you!
Cheers!
