Indy knife in TOD

I don't know if this has been talked about before, but in TOD, when the big Thugee is about to beat Indy, he picks up Indy's whip from a pile of his things. Looking closely I noticed that a small knife in a leather case fell down among the pile. I have never seen this before and was wondering if anybody knows anything about it. I might just be seeing things. It is about 1:17 into the new tapes.
