Infernal Machine Requirements

The game looks great, but sadly, I probably won't ever get to play it.

I was wondering about the 3D acceleration requirement. Are there a lot of people with this type of addon? I thought the standard was for people with 3D cards to have improved visuals, but the 3D-less masses would still be able to play the game. Doesn't this seem like a pretty steep requirement?
