The official status of the new Indiana Jones

Dear loyal Indiana Jones fans:

Pre-production for the next Indiana Jones feature will not begin until late 2001 (at the earliest) after the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy is complete.

If all goes to plan, the release date should occur around Memorial Day Week 2002.

However, until Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford sign on for the project, it will effectively remain dead.
