WESTED & Vaseline Help

Do I have to understand that using vaseline on my Wested ain't a good idea?. Please could anyone help me about the do and dont's on taking care of Wested Jackets..... Also would like to give it a fairly quick used style, not as much as distressed, just a little bit only.... Any ideas?. Thanks in advance....RAFA.
