Can't jump to center of bridge in level 7

No matter what I do, I can't land on the center of the rope bridge which I assume is the right move. Even if I cheat and drop to the ground, Indy dies when I turn off God mode or gets mired in some hook locker than acts like invisible quick sand above the ground.

What am I overlooking?
