Personally, I think it depends on the character. I want to know what happened to Marion, because she was a great character, and because of that little history she seemed to have with Indy. On the other hand, I don't really care about Willie. She just seemed like the woman Indy happened to be with, kind of like in some James Bond movies. Also, I found her annoying at times. Well that's my opinion, anyhow.
