HELP ON FATE OF ATLANTIS!!!!

Okay guys, here's one for you...

I've played FATE OF ATLANTIS TWICE now, over the years. And for the first time, I'm playing the ACTION/FISTS route...

I'm stuck in the large structure in Crete -- the one with all the tunnels. I've mapped out EVERY ROOM visually, and yet am still stuck in.

I've gone to one room with a blocked door. I pushed the stone door over to find....just a dead end doorway leading to a cliff.

The ONLY other untried doorways are in one room, featuring a heavy iron gate that's closed, and a nearby crawltunnel that's too high up to enter.

The iron gate has a pulley on the other side, but I can't reach it, either with the whip or the ship rib. (It also doesn't have the lever for the three statue heads.)

So, I'm TRAPPED INSIDE the damn cave, even though I have the oricalcum and gold box. (I do not have the fish-on-a-string, which was never available in the game.)

What do I do? Even internet hint sights don't have an answer...
